Inspired by 6 feet of social distancing when school started again in August of 2020, the satirical cartoons of giant hoop skirts, and ball gowns from the 1850s, I built this not-quite-historically-accurate ensemble during my final semester of high school.
I used this 1860's corset patent as a reference to draft my own corset, which is made with cotton coutil, German plastic boning, a metal busk, and a few hooks and eyes.Â
